Signature Tours

Every so often, you get an opportunity to experience something extraordinary! Signature Tours provide just that, unlocking doors of the city for you to explore!

Signature Tours allow guests to experience a special aspect of San Antonio’s history that is only available for a limited time.

Tours of historical buildings, societal topics, and San Antonio’s rich culture are presented by expert guides. The goal is to bring focus not only to San Antonio’s history but also to nonprofit organizations that are working to make a difference in the community, with a share of proceeds from the tours benefiting charity.

A Home for the Holidays

Signature Series

Dec. 6, 2024 - Jan. 5, 2025

Come explore the fascinating history of the most wonderful time of the year in San Antonio.

Downtown San Antonio’s holiday magic is made even more stunning through rediscovery of long-forgotten traditions and stories of individuals who shaped the city’s celebrations. On horseback, in carriages, and by train, people have traveled to San Antonio for the holidays for centuries. It was a city that promised joy and one that felt like home. …and it still is!

This tour provides glimpses of fantastic history forgotten with time. Circus performers. Newspaper boys. Smelly Santas. Exasperated clergy. Cowboys with gunpowder. And some snowbirds from the north. The city’s many festivities are made more beautiful by philanthropy and kindness found all along the way. Warm and fuzzy feelings are guaranteed, as are “Oh, wow!” moments and plenty of selfie opportunities!

For a limited time of just a few weeks, join us to explore. Beginning at San Fernando Cathedral and ending at Travis Park, many sites showcasing San Antonio’s holiday beauty will be visited, including Main Plaza, Houston Street, the River Walk, Alamo Plaza, and several famed downtown hotels with dazzling décor. …and did we mention hot chocolate is included?! The tour concludes with an opportunity for ice skating at the Rotary Ice Rink. (Tickets for ice skating are not included and must be booked separately by clicking here.)

Half of tour profits will go to The Salvation Army, which has ensured Christmas cheer touches the lives of all San Antonians since 1889.

Have an idea for a future Signature Tour?

We are always thinking about what’s next! While Signature Tours are purposed to be limited-time engagements to explore places and niche topics of history, it is often challenging to get in contact with individuals who can grant access to a building or exclusive site.

If you have an idea for a future limited-time tour - and can suggest a good point of contact who could help make it happen - we’d love to hear about it! Just send us a message here, and we’ll add it to our list of places to consider for the future!
